평소 RSS 리더를 이용하여 구독하는 블로그 중, Presentation Zen이라는 프리젠테이션에 대한 블로그가 있습니다. 얼마전 그곳에 실린 “Is it finally time to ditch PowerPoint?”이라는 글 중에 동감 가는 부분이 있어 옮겨 봅니다.
“It is effective to speak to a diagram, because it presents information in a different form. But it is not effective to speak the same words that are written, because it is putting too much load on the mind and decreases your ability to understand what is being presented.”

실제로 글씨가 많은 발표를 보고 있자면 집중이 안 되는 경우가 많습니다. 그림이나 도표로 원하는 바를 전달하는 것이 가장 유용한 방법이라는 걸 알고 있으면서도 제대로 안 되는 것이 현실이지요. 어제도 발표할 일이 하나 있었는데, 전공이 다른 사람들에게 조금 복잡한 통계분석 방법을 설명하려 하니 잘 이해를 못 하는 눈치더군요.
알아듣기 쉽게 설명하는 프레젠테이션의 길은 멀고도 험난합니다. ㅜ.ㅜ
